🚀 Overview:
This release focuses on stability fixes, smoother onboarding, mobile UX improvements, and a meaningful pricing update based directly on community feedback. There were a couple of tricky edge cases in here, but things should now be far more reliable across scanning and uploads.
🆕 Features Released:
🎨 New Onboarding Flow
- New users now land on a clear "Get Started" screen after signup
- This guides users directly into upload or scan options
- Goal: reduce early-stage friction and make the first action obvious
📱 Mobile Collection UI Cleanup
- Removed the large hero scan section from the top of the mobile collection view
- This frees up space for your actual collection and management tools
- Overall result: cleaner UI and a more practical mobile experience
🆓 Non-Graded Scans Are Now Free
- All non-graded scans are now unlimited for new users
- Existing users will be included in a follow-up update later this week
- Huge thanks to @Chaos kicking this off and to everyone who raised this and contributed to the pricing + feature + user retention discussion — genuinely helpful feedback 🙏
🐞 Bug Fixes:
🔢 Issue Number Detection Fix - @SwampThingTom I think this one is squashed!
- Resolved a normalization issue in the Advanced Grading user flow
- This was causing issue numbers to occasionally fail detection
- Detection should now be fully reliable again
📸 Edge-Case Image Upload Failure (The "Fun" One 😅) - @BadAstronaut Eureka!
- Images are converted to base64 before AI analysis
- Base64 adds file size overhead, which caused some uploads to exceed request limits and fail silently
- Example: a 4MB image could become ~8MB after conversion
- Added final-step image compression before analysis to prevent failures
⚠️ Note:
There is a small tradeoff to monitor here — excessive compression could impact grading accuracy if image quality drops too much. I've tested this extensively and grading appears consistent, but it's something I'll be keeping a close eye on.
